A Whole World of Wine by Harland Wines
A very different style of tasting this month, in that we had two speakers with a much more relaxed style and also that we were tasting the wines blind.
Adam and Simon of Harland Wines introduced us to some very interesting and at times, perplexing wines from Georgia, India, China and Spain. I personally enjoyed their Saperavi, a sparkling wine from Georgia, the "orange" wine, the Soul Tree Rose from India, the Chinese Merlot (which I think most people mistook for a Pinot Noir) and their final Indian Cabernet Sauvignon. I'll definitely be looking out for these in and around Belfast and I look forward to finding out what other unusual wines the guys will be bringing to these shores in the future.
